USFF membership is required to play in USFF sanctioned leagues, tournaments, state cup competition, regional championships, the national championship and in international competitions. All registered USFF participants are covered by USFF insurance. There is a $8.00 per player USFF Registration Fee per year that covers participant membership in USFF and insurance. Futsal uses the same seasonal year and player age classification system as is used in the outdoor game.
